About KONSI HUNYN

Education and Public Service Career

Councilor Abu’s journey into public service began with her advocacy for children’s rights and community development. She earned her Master’s in Public Administration from Cotabato State University (CSU), which further fueled her drive to serve the people of Cotabato City.

Before entering local government, she worked with a Mindanao-based NGO for five years, empowering the youth and vulnerable communities. She then served as a Political Affairs Officer in the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) for three years, contributing to legislative processes during the critical transition period.

Family

Councilor Abu is the daughter of the late Ghazali Jaafar, a revered Moro leader and peace advocate. She is part of a family deeply rooted in public service, with her siblings actively serving the Bangsamoro region: Mujib Abu, a member of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), and Johari Abu, the current Vice Mayor of Cotabato City. Growing up in a family dedicated to the pursuit of peace and progress, Hunyn was inspired to continue this legacy of service to the Bangsamoro.
